A graduate of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, Marius Suteu is an exponent of modern and sustainable agriculture, being a veterinarian and the representative of the Cosm Fan farm in Mociu, Cluj County. With a herd of 360 cattle, the farm is a renowned pillar in local production. 140 heads of the Aberdeen Angus breed are dedicated exclusively to meat production, and the rest are from the Romanian Balțata breed used for milk production. 

Within the farm, an integrated process of production and processing is carried out. The milk is processed into a variety of high-quality dairy products, including telemea, ham and cheese roulade, and bottled milk. This small processing unit adds value to the products and allows the farm to diversify its offer. 

The beef cows benefit from approximately 100 hectares of pasture. When they reach maturity or the required weight, they are slaughtered and then processed in the farm’s unit processing. This vertical process ensures quality control and freshness of the finished products. 

The farm’s products are distributed regionally directly to final consumers through its own network of stores “Moldovan. Carmangeria Sanicoara” (https://www.carmangeriamoldovan.ro/ ). This network provides consumers with access to fresh and local products, thus promoting sustainability and the local economy. 

In 2014, out of the desire to keep up with the times and differentiate themselves from the competition, they started a complex process of rebranding the company. This resulted not only in a new identity, but also in bringing a new butcher shop concept to the market. Thus, in Moldovan stores there is both a sales area where you can buy grocery products, and a bistro area, where hot dishes prepared by the company’s chefs are served. 

The Cosm Fan Srl farm, under the guidance of Marius Suteu, not only makes a significant contribution to the development of the local community, but also demonstrates that modern agriculture can be ecological by eliminating long-distance transport and profitable at the same time.
